Advanced Metabolic Health & Nutrition Assessment
Metabolic health is how well your body regulates processes such as blood sugar, insulin response, thyroid function, inflammation and nutrient status. Third Spring’s assessment is Clinical Nutritionist-led, with medical collaboration where appropriate. Three tiers: a 15-minute intro consult, a 30-minute clinical nutrition consult, or an Advanced Metabolic Programme with comprehensive pathology (up to 70 markers as clinically appropriate) and structured follow-ups. Any pathology or prescription treatment needs medical assessment and suitability.
Data-driven testing. Personalised nutrition. Structured support.

What is metabolic health?
Metabolic health reflects how efficiently your body regulates key processes. When these systems are out of balance, it can impact weight, mood, sleep and long-term disease risk.
How we assess metabolic health
Led by our Clinical Nutritionist, assessment considers nutrition, lifestyle, symptoms and available health information. Comprehensive pathology may be discussed where appropriate; any pathology requires medical assessment and suitability.

Thyroid
Function assessment
Hormones
Review where clinically appropriate

Compare the Three Metabolic Tiers
- Introductory Metabolic Consultation — 15 minutes
- A brief discussion of your main concern, general guidance and a next-step recommendation. For people deciding where to start; direction, not a full assessment or personalised plan. Optional blood testing has an additional cost and requires medical assessment.
- Clinical Nutrition Consultation — 30 minutes
- Review of diet, lifestyle and symptoms, with individual nutrition strategies and discussion of further testing where appropriate. For people seeking a more detailed nutrition review. Optional blood testing has an additional cost and requires medical assessment.
- Advanced Metabolic Programme — five structured sessions
- Metabolic Balance® with comprehensive pathology up to 70 markers as clinically appropriate, biomarker review and personalised nutrition planning. Two 60-minute consultations and three 30-minute follow-ups, with ongoing support. For people seeking a structured data-led programme; medical assessment determines pathology suitability.

Is This the Same as Medical Weight Management?
No. Medical Weight Management is the doctor-led pathway with included initial pathology, a Chief Medical Officer consultation, an ODX Health Report and a Clinical Nutritionist Success Session. Metabolic health is Clinical Nutritionist-led, with the three tiers outlined above and medical collaboration where appropriate. A nutrition consultation is not a prescribing pathway.
Telehealth and In-Person Care
Metabolic consultations are available Australia-wide via telehealth where appropriate. Pathology collection, if ordered, takes place in person at a pathology provider.
In-person care is available at Brisbane CBD — 243 Edward Street, Brisbane QLD 4000, Wilston — 102 Kedron Brook Road, Wilston QLD 4051 and Surfers Paradise — 3 Alison Street, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217.
Fees and Optional Blood Testing
Third Spring Medical is a private clinic and does not accept Medicare or private health insurance. Fees are discussed as applicable before you decide whether to proceed. Optional blood testing is available at additional cost; any pathology or prescription treatment requires medical assessment and suitability. Read consultation fees and billing information.

FAQs
Why can't I lose weight even with training and calories tracked?
Weight resistance can be driven by insulin response, sleep/stress load, thyroid function, inflammation, nutrient gaps and hormone-related factors. Testing may help inform an individual clinical assessment.
Do hormones affect metabolism?
Hormones can influence appetite, energy use, recovery, sleep quality and fat distribution. Where clinically appropriate, we assess this alongside metabolic markers.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. If we need additional information from your GP or specialist, we'll guide you.
How is ongoing care reviewed?
Your clinical team reviews relevant health information and pathology and discusses follow-up according to your individual needs.
Is this medical weight loss?
No. Metabolic health is a Clinical Nutritionist-led assessment with three tiers and medical collaboration where appropriate. Medical weight management is a separate doctor-led pathway with initial pathology, a Chief Medical Officer consultation, an ODX Health Report and a Clinical Nutritionist Success Session.
Is this suitable for both men and women?
Yes. Our metabolic health programme is designed for both men and women experiencing symptoms related to energy, weight, hormones, or general wellbeing.
